NEWS UPDATE JUNE 2022
Following successful trial running carriage 1474 is expected to return to its Worth Valley Railway base in time for running in their Vintage Trains on Sundays from 19th June to 17th July 2022, details can be found on the Worth Valley website here
Pug 19 passed its final insurance steam test on 29th April 2022 and will be based at the East Lancashire Railway although is expected to be in demand for visits to other railways as was the case with our other Pug 51218 when it was in steam.
19’s first trial run on the main line was to Heywood and Ramsbottom with a short freight on 19th May 2022, which was also successful.
19 is scheduled to feature in a weekend event on 18th and 19th June 2022 at East Lancashire Railway to celebrate the centenary of the 1922 merger of the L&Y and L&NW Railways, this is currently planned to have the following locos operating –
Our Pug 19 and Saddletank 752, L&Y ‘A’ class 52322, LNWR ‘Coal Tank’ 1054.
On Saturday 18th Pug 19 is planned to run a Bury-Ramsbottom shuttle at 1342, repeated running with 752 and 19 at 1620. 752 will also operate with ‘A’ Class 52322 on other journeys.
On Sunday 19th Pug 19 is planned to run with 752 on a Bury-Heywood return trip at 0950 with 752 continuing to Rawtenstall, possibly with Pug 19. 752 will also operate with ‘A’ Class 52322 on another round trip.
There is a possibility of 19 working with 2 carriages on Sunday 26th June, details are still to be confirmed and it is planned to send a newsletter with details if this becomes definite, as well as details being given on this website.
